Actor Tony Ganios, best known for his portrayal of Anthony Meat Tuperello in the cult classic film Porky's, has passed away at the age of 64. His fiancée, Amanda Serrano-Ganios, confirmed the news on social media on Monday night.
Ganios reportedly went to the hospital on February 17th complaining of feeling unwell. Doctors discovered a severe spinal cord infection and performed surgery. Sadly, he suffered a fatal heart attack the following day while on his way to dialysis.
"The last words we said to each other were 'I love you,'" Serrano-Ganios wrote. "Love is an understatement. You are everything to me. My heart, my soul and my best friend. #I love you #tonyganios."
“It's just unreal to me right now. It was so fast,” Serrano-Ganios wrote on X Tuesday. “He hadn't felt well and hid it from me for days. When he finally told me, and was taken to the hospital, his spinal cord was severely infected. They did surgery, next morning, his heart stopped. I'm crushed.”
"I'm just completely empty inside now. He was my best friend, my soul mate. I just love him so much," Serrano-Ganios told People magazine.
Fans and colleagues have expressed their condolences online, remembering Ganios for his humour and infectious personality. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who enjoyed his work and those who knew him personally.
