Amidst rumors of royal tensions, sources revealed in August that Prince Harry and Kate Middleton were engaging in clandestine phone calls, seen by some as a "kind gesture" aimed at repairing the strained bonds within the royal family. 

Long-standing rumors of a rift, including a reported spat over Princess Charlotte's flower girl dress before Harry and Meghan's 2018 royal wedding, have fueled the narrative.
