Govt spending resources on colourful buses: Bilawal
Says taxes worth billions of rupees levied on masses; PML-N govt initiating PPP projects
LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Sunday said that the government is focused only on prolonging its rule. He said nepotism was displayed in all major projects of the government.
He said the government has introduced taxes worth billions of rupees for the masses but is focused on only colourful buses and roads. Talking at a mass marriage ceremony in Lahore, Bilawal said that the government is being unfair with the farmers by buying substandard wheat from Ukraine.
The speech took an interesting turn when Bilawal suddenly forgot some words speaking in Urdu. However, realising his mistake, he corrected the words and the sentence. Bilawal also mentioned the projects started by the PPP government on this occasion. He said that the projects started by the PPP government were aimed at empowering the people of Pakistan.
He said that the current government is initiating the same PPP projects under new banners. He said the rulers are not concentrating on the basic issues of masses. He said bread, clothes, house and healthcare are the basic needs of man.
He said that prolonged periods of dictatorship did not address these issues. He said the projects of Sasti Roti and Danish School failed, adding that demonstrations are being held against the government’s Kissan Package. He said people have been divided on the basis of language and sect today.
Bilawal’s sisters Bakhtawar and Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, PPP Punjab President Mian Manzoor Wattoo, Aitzaz Ahsan, Sardar Latif Khan Khosa, Jehangir Badar, Nadeem Afzal Chan as well as JI and other party leaders were also present in the ceremony in which as many as
50 couples tied the knot.
