UoL programmes alumni reception held

The inaugural alumni reception of the University of London (UoL) International Programmes was held here, says a press release.
The event was attended by the High Commissioner of UK, Thomas Drew, Chief Executive and Pro-Vice Chancellor, UoL International Programmes Dr. Mary Stiasny, Simon Askey, head of Undergraduate Laws UoL International Programmes, Lisa Pierre, head of Alumni Engagement and Saad Wasim, country head of UoL International Programmes Pakistan along with Chaudhry Faisal Mushtaq, Khadija Mushtaq, Walid Mushtaq, Dr. Neelam Hussain, heads of regulation authorities, partners of law firms, key employers and a number of UoL Alumni and current students.
The British High Commissioner spoke highly of the UoL and stressed upon the importance of education within Pakistan. He felt that the British government’s focus on education through British Council and UoL International programmes was the way forward for growth and prosperity within Pakistan.
Dr. Mary Stiasny, pro-vice chancellor and chief executive of UoL International Programmes highlighted within her address the high achievements of Pakistani Students in the international programmes. Pakistan being the 6th largest market for UoL International Programmes has more than 3,000 students studying within the country and has produced more than 2,000 graduates mostly lawyers and social sciences alumnus. Simon Askey the head of Undergraduate Laws talked highly of their law students within Pakistan and appreciated the three students in Pakistan which secured the first class distinction in the whole course. A total of seven students around the world secured a first class distinction in the laws course and fortunately three belonged from Pakistan this time around.
Lisa Pierre, Head of Alumni Engagement was very pleased to meet the Pakistani alumni and alumni ambassadors and was very hopeful for many more UoL events in Pakistan in the future.
