KARACHI: An even deadlier secondary blast was averted when another improvised explosive device, found planted near the site of Sohrab Goth blast, was defused successfully, Geo News reported.

Earlier a blast that rocked Al-Asif Square area located in Sohrab Goth, a hostile territory notorious for armed clashes among warring gangs, resulted in at least four fatalities.

Rescue and security officials, fearing the possibility of more explosive devices hidden around, launched a search operation to clear the area so that any secondary explosions could be avoided, which paid.

According to sources, another lethal load of detonable material was found stuffed inside a taxi parked nearby. The bomb disposal squad successfully defused it averting what could have been one of the deadliest of all bombings in Karachi.

The blast-stricken area remains cordoned off with Rangers and police standing alert to control the situation.

Alhamdulillah ! Hats off to the law enforcement agencies and its personal for doing their jobs and not loosing morale despite dwindling resources and setbacks. As long as Pakistanis are united, no setback and hurdle is big enough which this nation cannot overcome.
