Common thief

This refers to the news report, ‘Gilani returns Turkish first lady’s diamond necklace’ (June 27). Former prime minister Yusuf Raza Gilani took the necklace that belonged to the nation and kept it. He eventually returned it after being threatened with incarceration.
Now the whole affair is forgotten and all is hunky-dory. Who says justice is blind in Pakistan? If I had stolen the necklace I would have been thrown into jail like a common thief.
