ICA, Diamond Club excited at Imad’s elevation as captain

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Cricket Association (ICA), local cricket followers and Diamond Club were excited at Syed Imad Wasim elevation as the captain of the national team for the 4th one-dayer played at Dubai Sports City Friday.

ICA region president Shakil Sheikh congratulate Imad Waseem on captaining Pakistan national outfit against Australia. In his tweet, Shakil said “He is top class all rounder with high credentials. Islamabad and Diamond Club-the best club in the country feel honoured. We wish him all the best.”

Faisal Suleman, a local cricket enthusiast termed Imad as pride of Islamabad and Pakistan. ‘He captained Pakistan juniors and now he has captained the national team. He is a talented all rounder who has all the guts and ability to lead the future Pakistan limited overs team once Sarfraz Ahmad hangs his gloves,” he said.

Lashing Club leading all rounder Tehseen Ahmad said Imad is the success story of Islamabad cricket. “He definitely is the product of Islamabad Club cricket that also threw numerous other international cricketers up front including former quality all rounder Azhar Mehmood. We pray for the success of Imad as captain of the team,” he said. Moid Sheikh who runs Diamond Cricket Academy also praised Imad as a cricketer and as human being. “He is really top class cricketer and a product of Diamond Club.”
