ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Central Secretary for Public Relations Zahid Hussain Kazmi on Monday welcomed the statement by Interior Minister, defending the parliament resolution on the Yemen crisis.
“The reaction by the Interior Minister Ch. Nisar Ali Khan is though belated, it is welcome and correct one, as Pakistan is a sovereign nation and its defence and security comes first,” said Kazmi while talking to The News here.
He noted that the minister had rightly reacted a UAE minister’s statement, wherein he had warned Pakistan of possible tough reaction for not supporting the stance of Saudi Arabia on Yemen crisis.
Kazmi pointed out that the interior minister’s statement and those of the defence minister and finance minister indicated that the government ministers were sharply divided on how to respond to the Saudi Arabia’s demands.
He criticised the prime minister and some other ministers for their volley of statements that caused anxiety among masses about Pakistan’s policy with regards to Yemen. “Instead of issuing statements, the Saudi demands must have been placed before the parliament for a concrete line of action,” he argued.
