Media meetings

Nawaz Sharif and Gen Raheel Sharif are shown on the electronic media almost on a daily basis conducting security meetings. They have been shown sitting on sofas facing the camera. Raheel Sharif has a stick in his hand while Nawaz Sharif is empty handed. There is no paper, pen, pencil, writing pad or writing table before them.
One wonders what sort of meetings these are. Is there any agenda or talking points? Do they write any notes? Or is everything verbal? In the normal course, they should be sitting around a table with a writing pad, pens etc to take notes or with supporting staff and somebody to record the minutes. The minutes of the meeting should be issued and confirmed by participants for record, reference and implementation. The electronic media should not restrict itself to showing faces of the two leaders alone. It should tell people what subject was discussed and what decisions were taken. Otherwise, they are wasting their resources and viewers’ time.
