ISLAMABAD: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah Monday declared the 100-day plan of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan as non-practical and political gimmick and said if Imran Khan could complete 100-day plan, he would prefer to be out of politics.

“It was not practical plan but the election gimmick as 100-day plan should be given after winning the election. How is he [Imran] giving it from before?” he said while talking to newsmen at his chamber in the Parliament House on Monday.

The opposition leader said giving a 100-day programme prior to election is tantamount to pre-poll rigging. “This is childish attitude from the PTI as if they win the election, no one could accept the elections as the 100-day plan is given after winning the election not before the elections,’ he said.

Syed Khursheed Shah said that it is right of every party to present its programme, but there should be some fact in it. “Imran Khan had a province where he could implement some of the things he has mentioned as he got a big chance to prove his claim in Khyber Pukhtunkhwa but he failed to do so,” he said.

Commenting on Imran Khan’s claim of creating 10 million jobs, Syed Khursheed Shah said the PTI chairman had not even provided jobs to 5,000 people in KP in the last five and a half years. “What is this new thing he has created in the model which he can implement in 100 days?”

Syed Khursheed Shah termed PTI’s call for the formation of a south Punjab province just an election slogan. “Only the PPP during the last five years had raised the issue of a south Punjab province.”

Asked whether any senior lawyer just like Ahsan Bhoon could be caretaker prime minister, opposition leader said “Ahsan Bhoon could be”.

Syed Khursheed shah said it is expected that the name of caretaker Prime minister would be announced after the meeting with the prime minister but if name was not finalized, it would take a few more days.

About prime minister’s announcement that he would accept the name given by opposition leader, Syed Khursheed Shah said it would be now their test whether they would accept the name or not which he would forward to him.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif slammed Imran Khan's 100-day plan. "Just compare Imran's performance in [Khyber Pakhtunkhwa] in the past five years with his 100-day plan," he said.

In apparent criticism of the KP government, the Punjab CM said those who had only given a 6MW shortfall to the people were painting pictures of a 100-day dream.

Shahbaz advised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to take a leaf out of the PML-N-led Punjab government in matters pertaining to good governance.

"Come to us and we will show you how to construct hospitals and universities," he said. "These are the lessons you need to be taught by us."

"[Imran Khan] Niazi and [Asif Ali] Zardari did not resolve issues in their own provinces," he said, alleging that the two leaders have become brothers.

The Punjab CM further said political rivals had continued to neglect their own provinces and they will have to bear the consequences of this negligence in the upcoming elections.

"The nation will not elect corrupt leaders who only know how to protest," he said.

Meanwhile, Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique slammed that 100-day plan presented by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairperson Imran Khan adding that the agenda is nothing more than "false claims" and "mere eloquence".

Lashing out the PTI leadership, Rafique in a series of tweets deemed that the promises of 10 million jobs, five million houses, one billion trees and 350 dams are just a "mirage".

"Those who chant slogans of accountability couldn't even make ehtesaab commission operational in their province," the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader added.

"Khyber Bank was destroyed during the tenure of Imran Khan," he alleged, adding that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has become the "den of polio" under Imran.

"The cannibalistic mice are eating up Imran's governance," he added.

Our correspondent from Nowshera adds: Awami National Party (ANP) leader Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that aliens (Khalai Makhlooq) were behind the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan's manifesto and 100-day plan.

He was talking to reporters in Pabbi area. He said that presenting manifesto was right of every political party but the PTI's case was particularly different.

Mian Iftikhar said that PTI's 100-day plan was not viable for implementation and it was an attempt to deceive people in the name of change ahead of the upcoming general elections. "Imran Khan had made tall claims of bringing change during first 90 days of his government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but failed to do so even in his party's five years rule in the province," he said. He added that the province was on the verge of economic collapse due to the wrong policies of the PTI-led provincial government.

Mian Iftikhar said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was deprived of development as not a single mega project was completed during last five years.

The ANP leader said that the incumbent provincial government had made record in corruption, taking kickbacks and mismanagement. "Imran Khan's announcement about the Fata reforms is beyond understanding as the issue is under process and will soon be resolved," he said, adding that when the bill on the Fata merger was tabled in the National Assembly, PTI parliamentarians had boycotted the assembly session.

Mian Iftikhar said creating 10million jobs for youth and five million houses announced in 100-day plan of PTI were against the ground realities and its implementation seemed impossible. Imran Khan had claims of planting one billion trees in the province but fact was against it, he lamented.
