Teenage boy commits suicide

An 18-year-old boy allegedly ended his own life in his house in Gulshan-e-Hadeed’s Phase-II on Saturday.

Steel Town Police Station’s officials said cops visited the house after receiving a call from a man, Habibullah Soomro, and found the body of his teenage son, Maqbool, hanging from a ceiling fan.

SHO Ghulam Mujtaba said Maqbool’s father said in his statement that his son was a drug addict. He said police were investigating to ascertain why the boy had killed himself.

 

Woman drowns at sea  

A 40-year-old woman died after drowning at sea.

Police officer Zameen Khan of Mauripur Police Station said Kausar, wife of Hanif, was among a group of people who had arrived in Mubarak Village from Korangi 2 ½ on a picnic.

He said the woman had been swimming in the sea when she drowned. Kausar was taken to a private healthcare facility, where doctors pronounced her dead.
