This year, Nazish Saeed Bangish and Nageen Khan received gold medals and Muhammad Sajid, Muhammad Asif, Nazish Saeed Bangish and Nageen Khan received silver medals at the convocation ceremony.

Earlier, Dr Kazi, while sharing his views at the second convocation of the Isra University, Karachi Campus, accentuated the importance of education. He said learning was a lifelong process that continued from the cradle to the grave.

He urged the students to be competitive and participative in order to increase their knowledge.

“There can be no development without participation; and there can be no participation without communication, in this age of digital literacy.”

Addressing the students, he said, “Opportunities are waiting for you. This day marks the commencement of your new carrier. You have to have confidence in yourself. I am sure that each one of you had different dreams, but surly you should never give up your dreams and aspirations.”

Dr Kazi further said these aspirations would drive them to higher levels of achievements. “Make your life purposeful, and prove to the society that you have worked honourably and diligently to the best of your capability, in uplifting the image of your country.”

He said it did not take great men to do things, but it was doing things that made men great. “You must give purpose to your lives. It is not honourable enough to only think about yourself; but work for the community that has done everything for you.”

Isra University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Ghulamqadir Kazi, in his address, said the main purpose of such events was not only to confer degrees on the students but also to honour their meritorious students.

In the light of a verse from The Holy Quran, he said, “Knowledge inculcates in a person a sense of responsibility and accountability.”

Expressing his expectations of the graduating batch, he said: “I hope that the graduating students of this university will demonstrate this purpose of the knowledge and will emerge as torch-bearers of truth and be paragons of virtue.”

He also shared the progress shown by Isra University and the various achievements made over the years. In his closing remarks, he congratulated the graduating students and expressed his good wishes for their future endeavours.
