ABBOTTABAD: The bikers rally, jointly organised by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA) and the Peshawar Bikers Club, concluded at the scenic Thandiani in Abbottabad district on Monday.
Around 30 motorcyclists participated in the rally. As part of the rally, bikers reached Thandiani via Nowshera, Mardan, Swabi, Haripur, Havelian, and Abbottabad. At Thandiani, the participants engaged in camping, tree plantation, and a cleanliness drive, contributing to environmental sustainability in the scenic area.
KPCTA Director Admin and Finance Umar Khan was the chief guest during the closing ceremony. He distributed certificates among the bikers. Peshawar Bikers Club captain Sajid Ali Khan and other members were also present at the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Umar Khan said that adventure tourism was essential for boosting tourism in the province. He said that bike tourism was an affordable and effective way to promote tourism while making it easier to access remote scenic destinations.
Peshawar Bikers Club Captain Sajid Ali said that the main goal was to promote tourism in the province. He said that this time, they also took part in tree-planting and cleanliness campaigns in a bid to send a positive message to tourists visiting these natural attractions.
The activities, he added, were aimed at encouraging tourists to help preserve the beauty of these scenic destinations in collaboration with the government and local communities. He also said that promoting adventure tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including camping at various tourist spots, was the aim of his club.
The bikers’ rally had departed from Peshawar for the tourist destination Thandiani in Abbottabad district on Friday last.Thandiani is a hill station in the scenic Galiyat area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, located in the northeast of Abbottabad district in the foothills of the Himalayas and international and domestic tourists visit it year-round.
