LAHORE: The DHA Lahore Punjab Juniors/Seniors Tennis Championship 2025 kicked off with an exciting first round of matches at the Defence Club courts in Lahore.
Top seed Haroon Zahid registered a commanding a 6-0 victory over Ahsan Razzaq, showcasing aggressive baseline play and a flawless serve. Mohid Saddan followed with a 6-1 win against Arham Khan, controlling the tempo with sharp footwork and consistent returns.
Sherhan Salim secured a 6-3 victory over Hassan Kamran, demonstrating a well-rounded game and effective net play. Meanwhile, Talha Saleem edged past M Ayan Khan in a tightly contested 6-4 match, maintaining composure at crucial points.
In another hard-fought battle, Asad Farooq defeated Haider Ahmad 6-4, relying on baseline consistency and mental grit. Ahmad bin Amir also impressed with a 6-4 win against Hamza Imran, while M. Diean rounded off the senior category with a 6-4 triumph over Mustafa.
In the boys’ under-18 category, M Ayan Khan rebounded from his singles loss to register a 6-1 win over Hadi Badar. He continued his strong showing in the boys’ under-14 category, breezing past Hamza Ali Jutt 6-0. Aaliyan Ali joined him in the next round with a 6-2 victory over Asad Ahsan.
In the boys’ under-12 category, Dainyal Abdullah emerged victorious with a 6-1 win against Mustafa Zia. Dainyal also featured in the mixed under-10 category, defeating M Siaam Khan 6-1, while Mustafa Zia bounced back with a 7-5 win over Shehreen Umer in a nail-biting contest. The day concluded with M Ehsan Bari delivering a flawless 6-0 performance against Ibrahim Faizan, wrapping up an action-packed opening round of the tournament.
