MANSEHRA: The body of an unidentified young girl was found in the heart of Balakot city here on Wednesday.
“We have shifted the body to a local health facility to establish her identity and also complete the medico-legal formalities,” Munir Khan, an investigation officer of Balakot Police, told reporters. He said the body of an unidentified 12-year-old girl was spotted by residents of the Padina Bela area who later informed the police.
“The girl was strangulated to death after torture and the body was dumped at the riverside. The doctors carried out the autopsy to complete the medical report,” the cop said. He said that it would be premature to say either the girl was assaulted before the murder or any other reason led to her death until police received the postpartum report.
