LANDIKOTAL: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) and Haq Ki Awaz Welfare Organization, in collaboration with district police, have launched a campaign to rehabilitate drug addicts in Khyber.
An awareness campaign was launched to sensitize the people about the negative impacts of the use of drugs.Two drug addicts, Zahoor, a resident of Bara, and Shahzad, a resident of Jamrud, were handed over to the team comprising officials from the ANF to rehabilitate them at Haq Ki Awaz Rehabilitation Centre.
District Police Officer Salim Abbas said the police were working to rehabilitate the drug addicts in addition to taking action against the drug peddlers.He said the campaign aimed to enable drug addicts to live a normal life and get rid of drug addiction.
The official said this would help their families to have relief from the mental stress they were facing. Salim Abbas appreciated the efforts of ANF and Haq Ki Awaz Welfare Organization in fighting drug addiction.
He hoped these efforts would help enable the youngsters to start normal life.The official requested the civil society and notables of the community to help the police and the ANF to wipe out social evils from society.
