Army officers, soldiers get awards
Awards of Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military), Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-i-Basalat were conferred on army officers and soldiers
RAWALPINDI: The investitures of the Peshawar Corps and the Lahore Corps were held on Wednesday.
Corps Commander Peshawar Lieutenant General Hassan Azhar Hayat was the chief guest. Awards of Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military), Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-i-Basalat were conferred on army officers and soldiers. The next of kin of four junior commissioned officers (JCOs) and 29 soldiers received Tamgha-i-Basalat on behalf of Shuhadas. Five officers were awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and 15 officers Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military) for rendering meritorious services to the nation.
Corps Commander Lahore Lieutenant General Syed Aamer Raza was the chief guest at a ceremony held at the Lahore Corps. Awards of Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military), Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-i-Basalat were conferred on army officers and soldiers. In all, 25 officers were awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military), 27 officers Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military) and 18 Shaheed soldiers Tamgha-i-Basalat. Medals of Shuhada were received by their family members. A large number of senior army officers and families of the awardees attended the ceremonies.
