ISLAMABAD: Chief of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman has made it clear that no one can stop aid to the Madaris while the government wants to halt this aid to appease the US.
He said that the government could close down buildings but students and teachers would sit under the shades of trees in open ground and keep on performing their duty to teach the Holy Quran, as the dissemination and teaching of the Holy Quran and Sunnah could not be stopped.
He termed the report of the Punjab government that the Madaris were not involved in extremism correct and contrary to the federal government’s report. He said that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif should stop the series of raids on Madaris. “It should be kept in mind that we will continue rendering our services in spreading the teachings of Islam despite the seizing of our buildings,” he added.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that the government seemed not to fulfil its promises made during the Dharnas with its allies. He said that the government was deviating from its promises with the end of the Dharnas.
The JUI-F chief said that he would fully support the rights of small provinces and would go to any extent in achieving these rights.
While condemning the deadly attack on the Shikarpur mosque, he said that the attack was a deep conspiracy against the peace efforts being made in the country and designed to split national unity. He appealed to the people to remain calm and said that the incident might add fuel to the fire in spreading sectarianism and they should remain vigilant in this regard.
Meanwhile, Chief of the Ahl-e-Sunnat-Wal-Jamaat Pakistan Allama Muhammad Ahmed Ludhianvi called on Fazlur Reham and exchanged views on the country’s situation. Fazlur Rehman said that the religious class was being made a target without justification which was against the Constitution. Maulana Ludhianvi said that injustice created anarchy and terrorism. He vowed to protect the Islamic image of Pakistan.
