'The Handmaid's Tale' to finish with season 6
The Handmaid's Tale will end with season 6 as the final
The Emmy-nominated dystopian drama Handmaid's Tale has been renewed for a sixth and final season on HULU, as per Variety.
The speculations were rife that the Elizabeth Moss-starrer may end after six seasons and now the confirmation has been
"It has been a true honour to tell the story of Margaret Atwood’s groundbreaking novel and the chillingly relevant world, and we are thrilled to bring viewers a sixth and final season of The Handmaid’s Tale,” creator, showrunner and executive producer Bruce Miller said in a statement.
While there's no confirmation on what will transpire in the final season, fans of the dystopian thriller have waited nearly two years after witnessing the season 4 cliffhanger.
Earlier this year, Moss labeled the series as "wilder", she said: "I will say that the season itself is possibly one of the wilder rides that we've had. Some seasons a lot happens, some seasons not as much happens.
"This season, I almost can't keep up. And it's not lip service. I truly mean I almost can't keep up with the amount of activity that's happening. So that's been exciting, and it's been challenging of course, because it means we're working really hard, and we're on location a lot. But never a dull moment is the way I would say it."
Written by Margaret Atwood, the best-selling dystopian novel is based on a totalitarian society where women are property of the state, won a total of 15 Primetime Emmys.
