Robert Downey Jr. remembers his past adventures and why he is ‘done’ now
Robert Downey Jr. opened up about his experience of skydiving
American actor Robert Downey Jr. is speaking about his ‘adventurous past’ and how he tries to keep the thrill at a minimum after reaching middle-age.
A new clip of his recent interview with Stephan Colbert on The Tonight Show has been making rounds where the Iron Man star opened up about his experience of skydiving.
“I have done [adventurous] stuff… I’m middle-aged now so it’s all about protecting the asset, literally, but, you know, I went skydiving,” said Downey Jr.
He also revealed that he tried advanced freefall from 12,000 feet: “I had twisted my line, it was not fun.”
"It was a real buzz when I realized that I was not going to hit the ground at terminal velocity and my chute opened,” the Sherlock Holmes star continued.
Despite his past flings with adventure, the actor is sure that all of that is now behind him.
“I’m 55, brother. I’m looking at the back nine. I don’t want to have to explain to my kids why I’m in traction or why my face looks different or why I’m not available for months at a time cause I’m rehabbing something that I did cause I’m stupid,” he said.
For the unversed, the Avengers: Endgame actor had a rough past involving drug addiction.
