MUMBAI: Bollywood super star Aamir Khan Monday stood with the intelligentsia over the steadily growing intolerance in India, saying his wife even suggested leaving the country.
According to dnaindia.com, Aamir Khan, 50, while speaking at a program expressed his ‘alarm’ over a number of incidents that reeked of intolerance in India.
The actor of PK – Aamir Khan’s blockbuster movie of 2014 – also showed support for the artists and creative people who had returned their awards in protest over the growing climate of intolerance in India.
"When I chat with Kiran at home, she says 'Should we move out of India?' That's a disastrous and big statement for Kiran to make. She fears for her child. She fears about what the atmosphere around us will be. She feels scared to open the newspapers every day. That does indicate that there is this sense of growing disquiet, there is growing despondency apart from alarm. You feel why this is happening, you feel low. That sense does exist in me," Aamir Khan said.
