Ahad Raza Mir is sweeping hearts internationally after playing Hamlet in Calgary

The Yaqeen Ka Safar actor won over praises as he went back to his alma matter, University of Calgary where he studied acting and also attended high school, to essay the lead role in Shakespeare’ famous play Hamlet: A Ghost Story which opened on Friday night.

Pakistan’s heartthrob Ahad Raza Mir after making waves in the country is sweeping hearts across the seven seas as well as his latest theater performance as Hamlet is bringing him praises from all around.

The Yaqeen Ka Safar actor won over praises as he went back to his alma matter, University of Calgary where he studied acting and also attended high school, to essay the lead role in Shakespeare’ famous play Hamlet: A Ghost Story which opened on Friday night.

Amongst the plethora of praises that were showered down on him, was a certain special friend of the actor cum singer –Sajal Ali, who turned to Instagram to laud Ahad for his remarkable performance.

“Ahad, I have to admit that there’s nobody like you. Playing Hamlet is an accomplishment. The language, the emotions, the impact of the character was so well portrayed. Out of all the performances of any actor I’ve ever witnessed, your Hamlet was easily one of the BEST. Please bring the show to Pakistan so that everyone can see the finest actor we have,” she stated.

Before making it big on Pakistani television, Ahad had been a budding theater star in Calgary and as per a report by Calgary Herald, he had agreed to return to the Canadian city after he started work on the text himself.

Regarding the character he stated that he wanted to make Hamlet “the kind of guy you’d like to hang out with. I wanted to make him as relatable as possible to a contemporary audience.”
