Britain has welcomed the first polar bear cub born in the country, at the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland’s Highland Wildlife Park, after an extensive gap of 25 years.
Born right before Christmas last year, to mother Victoria and father Arktos, the cub had only recently emerged moving around in confidence, as per reports by the zoo.
The baby polar bear’s mother had only recently began venturing outside on her own which reassured the zoo keeper that the cub would soon be accompanying her in her frequent visits.
The head keeper for the carnivorous at the zoo, Una Richardson had revealed she had been keeping a lookout for Victoria when "suddenly I saw a small, fluffy bundle next to her and had to pinch myself to check I wasn’t seeing things."
Cameras have also been installed outside the polar bear’s den to capture all significant movements of Britain’s star cub.
