Pakistani actress Mehwish Hyat who has won hearts of cinemagoers with her stellar performances, has always raised her voice for women rights.
Recently, she delivered a lecture at Queen Mary University in London where she paid tribute to courageous women and shed light on women empowerment.
She called renowned lawyer Asma Jahangir, Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah, Benazir Bhutto and Malala Yousafzai women icons of Pakistan .
She said Asma Jahangir was the rights activist who never got scared in the face of intimidation, aggression and atrocities.
"It was an amazing feeling to see women from all walks of life taking part in funeral procession that just recently happened," she said.
She both Fatima Jinnah and Benazir Bhutto fought for their ideals and stood out to ruthless dictators. "And then there is Malala who took upon herself to speak for what is right.
Jawani Phir Nahi Aani star is also part of #Metoo campaign.
