Quavo announces birth of first child: 'I'm just happy'

Quavo has become the father of a baby girl!

During an interview with Complex, the 35-year-old rapper announced that he recently welcomed his first child.

“It’s a blessing that God gave me,” Quavo told the outlet. “It’s a whole new state. It brings joy to me."

"It brings a new reason why I’m doing this," he continued. "It brings like a new hunger, a new fire to me."

"I’m just proud to be a father now, cause we used to always talk about that. So I’m just happy about it," added the Migos rapper.

Work-wise, Quavo is preparing for the release of his upcoming solo album, Qrömelife. The new album will be released on Friday, October 2.

The upcoming project is deeply connected to Quavo's family. As per the publication, the album addresses the passing of his nephew, Takeoff.

For those unaware, Takeoff was brutally murdered outside a bowling alley in downtown Houston in November 2022.  He was just 28.

In 2023, Quavo gave an interview to Jamie Crawford-Walker in which he openly expressed his grief.

“I miss him a lot and I love him,” the rapper said. “He know I love him. That’s what we always know. So when you see me and you see me smiling or something like that, you don’t gotta never think I forgot about him or I’ll forget about him."

"I think about him all the time. Sometimes I cry myself to sleep. And that’s it. I just know he’s here. If I can’t feel him, I just know he’s around," added Quavo.
