Russia warns UK of ‘nuclear response’ over Kaliningrad threats

Russia has issued a chilling nuclear warning to the UK and warned of serious consequences in response to Sky News' Wargame TV show.

At the heart for serious nuke warning lies a new British miniseries which revolves around a fictional Russian attack against the UK, showing the unfolding of conflict and hostilities between the two countries.

In the five-part show, which premiered last week, when Britain stands entirely alone in the series, the Prime Minister in the series orders a retaliatory attack against Murmansk and Kaliningrad, the strategically important Russian territory situated between Poland and Lithuania.

But the fictional plot evoked a threatening response from the Russian embassy in the UK.

“Those advocating a blockade or strike on Kaliningrad should have no illusions about the consequences,” write on X.

“Any British or NATO military action against Russian territory would be met with all means at Russia’s disposal, including nuclear weapons.”

"Russia has repeatedly made clear that it neither seeks confrontation with NATO and Europe nor intends to attack them… But should anyone choose to unleash such a conflict, they must be under no illusion that Russia will respond accordingly."

The response referred to an article in the i News, which described Kaliningrad as Putin’s “greatest weakness.” One former Nato official told the outlet that “Russia knows it’s a vulnerability.”

The Kremlin's response comes as Europe is on high alert over the reports that Russia could intensify hybrid warfare in coming month.

Denmark’s defence intelligence services in threat assessment have sounded alarm over possible escalation of Russian hybrid threats against the West, citing, “A limited military attack would be a ‌desperate ⁠move on Russia’s part and, like the intensified hybrid attacks, could potentially take place in the coming months.”

However, Moscow denied such reports of hybrid warfare and intentions of confrontation with European countries.
