Anne Hathaway warned by doctor against appearing on 'Hot Ones'

Anne Hathaway is six to seven months pregnant. But she wanted to appear on Hot Ones to promote her upcoming film, Verity.

She planned to appear and feature her on-screen character, Verity Crawford, on the popular show.

But doctors came in as part of her plan during the Verity press tour.

She told Talk of the Townsends podcast that in her forthcoming movie, there is a scene where she had to eat spicy wings.

“We did the first three wings for real, and then I switched to dummy wings," she said.

Confident, Hathaway recalls the scene gave her the confidence to eat those wings on Hot Ones when she goes on promotion.

"And then I thought that I was going to be able to do the ‘Hot Ones’ challenge to do press for this film because it just made sense."

However, at the time the film wrapped and the press tour kicked off, Hathaway became pregnant, and according to the doctors, spicy wings could trigger early labor.

“But then I got pregnant, and my doctor said I couldn’t do it because I might go into early labor."

But the actress is hopeful she can appear on the show next year.

"So I still haven’t done the gauntlet yet. I’m not sure when that’s going to happen. Maybe next year."

Verity in theatres on Oct. 2.
