'Emotional' Prince William makes big decision to avoid further conflict with Harry

Prince William has made a big decision to avoid a potential further conflict with his estranged brother Harry, who is set to make a documentary on their late mother Princess Diana to mark her 30th anniversary.

According to a report by the Sunday Times, ‘emotional’ Prince William has rejected Diana film offers.

The report, citing the sources, has said as Prince Harry considers ways to mark 30 years since their mother’s death, and Earl Spencer’s book continues to sting, Prince William is not getting involved.

The outlet also tweeted, “The Prince of Wales will not make a film about Diana, Princess of Wales, to mark the 30th anniversary of his mother’s death next year to avoid a potential further conflict with his brother.⁠”

It further said, Prince William, who was 15 when Diana died in a car crash in Paris in 1997, is understood to have declined several offers to make or appear in documentary tributes to his late mother as the date approaches.⁠

Last week sources close to Prince Harry confirmed that the Duke had discussed “a number of possible projects” to mark the anniversary “in the most meaningful way”, including a film.

It is thought that Netflix, which has a “first look” deal with Meghan and Harry, and made a six-part series with the couple in 2022, is in the running for the film.⁠
