Dolly Parton's estate claims nephew threatened to 'destroy' her brand

Following the abrupt firing of Dolly Parton‘s nephew Bryan Seaver as her longtime security manager, the late country singer's estate has filed a lawsuit against him.

The estate claimed that the son of Parton’s sister Cassie, who was serving as his aunt for more than two decades, had threatened to "destroy" Parton’s legacy and made repeated violent threats toward her staff.

The termination took place less than one month after Parton's death on August 25.

As per a report by People, Parton's estate She’s Alive, LLC (SAL), which Parton created for the protection of her legacy after her death, said in the filing that Bryan became “emboldened” after the Queen of Country's death.

The estate also filed for a temporary restraining order against Bryan, granted on Tuesday.

As per the document obtained by the outlet, it read, “Mr. Seaver began his campaign of threats, intimidation, and coercion a few weeks prior to Ms. Parton’s passing…. In writing, he vowed to ‘destroy the entire brand’ and also told her entertainment attorney: 'I’m not an entertainment person. I’m a killer.’”

The filing also claimed Bryan made "threats of real-world violence” to Parton’s team, partners, business and legal advisors.

They also added, “As the entity entrusted by Ms. Parton to protect and promote her life’s work for future generations, SAL must cultivate a safe work environment for employees, advisors, and partners, free from intimidation or hostility—particularly intimidation by an armed former security contractor. Without relief, Defendants’ calculated campaign will continue to inflict fear, to destabilize SAL’s operations, and to cause further irreparable harm.”

It has been reported that a new security company has already taken the position following Bryan's termination.

A source close to Bryan revealed to TMZ that he and his team had been "dismayed by the unexpected and, so far, unexplained actions."

“We remain unshakably resolved to fulfill her final directive to protect her family, and we refuse to be intimidated by those whose actions we believe are being taken in bad faith and with the intent to profit from the life of someone who willingly gave so much,” said Bryan's team.
