'Hang Lindsay Clancy': GOP rep calls for mom-of-three's public execution
Lindsay Clancy's trial has been dividing Americans along sharp lines
Lindsay Clancy did not deny killing her three children. But her defense team argued that she had been suffering from psychotic postpartum depression at the time, meaning it was not deliberate.
However, Republican U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace was unconvinced.
Instead, she squarely blamed Clancy for killing her children and called for a public execution for her so that it would create deterrence.
"She killed her kids," she told TMZ, adding, "She deserves nothing less."
For her act, Mace argued, "She should get the death penalty."
"It should be a warning to women everywhere – don't kill your kids. If people can get away with murdering children, what else can they do?"
The GOP member even shared a list of options for carrying out the execution.
A firing squad or an electric chair, she said
But ultimately, Mace said the method no longer matters as long as Clancy is punished in whatever way.
