Macklemore reacts after being dropped from Ed Sheeran's U.S. Loop Tour

Macklemore will not be more open to Ed Sheeran on his U.S. Loop Tour because he was dropped after making a political speech at MetLife Stadium on Sept. 4.

In a loud manner and in front of thousands of fans, he declared, "A big part of the reason why I wanted to do this tour in the first place is so I could stand up in stadiums like this and say two words that are very near and dear to my heart."

Macklemore continued, "I said, ‘Free Palestine!’ I want those words to be loud and clear so that people all know that we have not forgotten about them."

Then he performed one of his most political songs, Hind's Hall, as images from the war zone began to appear on the stadium screens.

Expectedly, a petition was started, chiefly by the Israeli American Council, to drop him.

And now McKlemore has been pushed aside.

However, taking to Instagram, the musician remains unflinchingly attached to his political opinion.

Writing, "I didn’t need 10 shows from Ed. I needed 2. Two chances to stand in front of 90,000 people and say the words that somehow became too dangerous to say."

"But if those words cost me the stage, while turning the conversation back to Palestine, then it was the most successful tour I’ve ever been on," he concluded.
