Piers Morgan says he prefers to call Meghan Markle, Prince Harry 'grifters'
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle prefer the term "public figures"
Outspoken journalist Piers Morgan has reacted to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s statement in which they hit out at King Charles decision to label them 'private citizens.'
Apparently in response to King Charles letter, the insiders close to Meghan and Harry have said they want to be known as 'public figures' instead.
The sources have made a string of extraordinary claims.
The close insiders told the Telegraph: "The duke is understood to have taken particular issue with the notion that the couple were to be treated as private citizens. If that were the case, it was claimed, such formal guidance would not be required.
"The Sussexes prefer the term "public figures", and would have liked an acknowledgement that, on a personal level, they remained members of the Royal Family, despite no longer receiving public funding."
Royal expert Rebecca English also took to X, formerly Twitter handle and shared the Daily Mail report saying, “Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would prefer to be 'public figures' NOT private citizens, sources reveal amid string of extraordinary claims.”
Commenting on the royal expert’s remarks, Piers Morgan tweeted, “I prefer to call them ‘grifters.’”
The outlet also reported the spy suggested this insistence Meghan and Harry be classed as 'public figures' who want their royal links burnished in public is evidence why the Sussexes' preferred 'half-in, half-out' model would never be sustainable alongside their commercial activities.
