BAFTA winning actor Noel Clarke charged with sexual offence of five women

Noel Clarke, an actor and BAFTA winner, has been charged with a series of sexual offences in connection to alleged offending that took place between 2007 and 2016, the Chief Crown Prosecution Service has announced.

The offences are alleged to relate to five women. The charges follow an investigation by detectives which began in September 2025.

A man, then in his 40s, was first arrested in connection with the investigation on September 25 in 2025. 

The CPS has authorised the Metropolitan Police to charge Clarke after a file of evidence was submitted by detectives.

Bethan David, Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor for CPS London said, “The Crown Prosecution Service has decided to prosecute Noel Clarke with two counts of sexual assault, three counts of voyeurism and one count of exposure.”

“This follows allegations made by five women in connection to sexual misconduct that took place between 2007 and 2016,” they added.

“Our prosecutors have worked to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring this case to court and that it is in the public interest to do so. We have worked closely with the Metropolitan Police as they have carried out their investigation into the allegations,” it was further stated.

Bethan continued, “The Crown Prosecution Service reminds everyone that proceedings are now active, and the defendant has the right to a fair trial. It is vital that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings.”

Meanwhile, Detective Superintendent Mike Cagney, whose team is leading the investigation, said, “The women connected to these charges continue to receive support from specially trained officers.”

“We urge anyone who has been a victim of sexual assault to contact police. The information you provide will be dealt with in the utmost sensitivity and we have trained investigators on hand to support you. Support is also available by contacting the independent charity, Rape Crisis at 24/7 Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Line,” Mike urged as he asked people to seek help if in trouble.

It is also pertinent to mention that Noel Clarke will now appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on October 21 this year.
