Speaking about the highly-anticipated 2026 Men's Ballon d'Or, prominent personalities were nominated for this award which will take place in October in London.

The list included Jude Bellingham, Pau Cubarsí, Marc Cucurella, Ousmane Dembélé, Luis Díaz and Bruno Fernandes.

Names like Kylian Mbappé, Nuno Mendes and Lionel Messi also graced the nominee list.

Moreover, Lamine Yamal made Ballon d’Or history with third nomination before turning 20-years-old. In 2024, he got 8th place and in 2025 2nd place behind Ousmane Dembélé.

Ballon d’Or 2026 nominations also took the internet storm as football fans have been talking about the nominations on various platforms.

Taking to X, Morgan shared his thoughts, “Kylian Mbappé, Harry Kane, or Khvicha Kvaratskhelia should win this, but I also believe Declan Rice was the world’s best midfielder last season and Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba were the world’s best defenders.”

In a separate interview with French Football, Kylian Mbappe expressed confidence that he could win as he deserves to win this prestigious award, stating, "I have a feeling I can win it this year, so I haven't distanced myself from that."

These initial team nominations precede the main 70th-anniversary ceremony, which is set for Monday, October 26, in London.
