Trump envoys Witkoff, Kushner land in Moscow for peace talks: Report
Trump confirmed on Friday Witkoff, Kushner mission to Russia, Ukraine with ‘idea for peace’
A private jet carrying President Donald Trump’s special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner touched down in Moscow on Saturday according to Russian aviation sources cited by Interfex.
The flight follows an announcement by Trump on Friday that the delegation was traveling overseas in a renewed push to broker an end to the war between Russia and Ukraine.
According to Russian media, a business jet that may be carrying Witkoff and Kushner arrived in Moscow.
"The plane landed at Vnukovo Airport," a source told Russian media.
According to Russian Telegram channel SHOT, the aircraft, identified as a government Boeing C-32A, departed Miami a day prior, and flew through Helsinki toward St. Petersburg, and touched down in Moscow around noon. Motorcade vehicles were spotted arriving at the airport to meet the delegation before they travel onward to Kyiv.
Speaking to the reporters on Friday, Trump confirmed the report of Witkoff and Kushner’s visit to Russia and Ukraine with the motive of forging a peace deal between two warring parties.
Trump also suggested that the US had “a fresh concrete proposal” aimed at ending the war, ongoing for four and half years. However, he did not disclose the details of the proposal.
It was earlier not confirmed whether Kushner and Witkoff would be traveling to Ukraine, Russia or both nations.
"We have an idea for peace," Trump said.
