Eve shares her son’s one rule about accent
Eve opens up about her struggle with the British accent
The Grammy-winning rapper Eve got candid about her son’s accent preference.
The American rapper married a British entrepreneur, Maximilion Cooper, in 2014, and currently the couple shares a 4-year-old son. Eve revealed to People Magazine that her little son insists that she speak with a British accent, “It’s getting stronger and stronger.”
She further went on to say, “It’s my son. I’m telling you, he tells me off. He’s only 4, but if I say something the wrong way, he’ll tell me I’m saying it wrong. So, I have to do it in an accent.”
“If I say it fully American, he will say to me, ‘No, Mama, that’s not how you say it.’”
“And I’m like, ‘Listen, I’m American, buddy,’” Eve added.
The singer said that her American accent is strong and “is never going anywhere.”
She further said, “They both just come out whenever they feel like it.”
Eve admitted that her British accent is not so good, “You know what’s funny? If I really try to do a British accent, it actually sounds absolutely terrible.”
“It’s the worst,” she remarked.
At last, the rapper expressed her gratitude that people still want to hear her music. She said, “You don’t really think about it like that, but I am so grateful for the impact that it’s had.”
“I feel really lucky as an artist that my music is still around and people still want to hear it, and it’s a great feeling, definitely,” Eve acknowledged gratefully.
