Miley Cyrus teases new chapter with mysterious campaign

Miley Cyrus appears to be starting a new chapter in her career, dropping her surname from her official branding and teasing a mysterious new project.

The 33-year-old singer recently redesigned her website, now simply presenting herself as "MILEY" instead of using her full name. 

The change comes along with a new visual campaign, which shows a dark red-and-black close-up of her eyes, also shared in a recent, caption-free photo on Instagram.

Fans quickly began speculating about what the rebrand might mean, especially since similar mysterious billboards recently appeared in New York showing the same visuals and the phrase "coming soon," without revealing an artist's name.

Naturally, Miley's followers began connecting the dots, sharing their anticipation in the comments. "I can't wait," one excited fan wrote, while another declared, "She is coming."

Fans continued to cheer on, with a third saying, "I'm ready," while another demanded, "Show it to me, Miley."

It is pertinent to mention that Miley has not confirmed a permanent name change, and both her account name and username on Instagram still carry the surname. 

This is also not the first time she's considered this idea. She previously expressed interest in going by "Miley" alone years ago, around the release of one of her earlier albums.

Adding to the intrigue, Miley signed a new record deal with a different label earlier this year, ending a long-standing partnership with her previous label group. However, no official album title or release date has been announced so far.

This apparent new era comes shortly after the death of her godmother, Dolly Parton, who passed away last week following a brief illness.
