Taylor Swift gets candid about her savage way of handling trolls

When it comes to handling trolls, Taylor Swift knows what she has to do.

The popstar made a recent appearance in the Grammy Museum’s Icon Sessions and sat down with Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr and during the conversation at the event she spilled how she claps back at critics.

“Sometimes when people are mocking me it’s really fun to mock them back,” the August singer told the CEO.

She went on to say with a laugh, “Sometimes I like to just use words that they have to look up in order to talk s*** about."

Mimicking a common critical remark about her, Taylor said, “It’s like, anything you say, they’re like, ‘Oh, easy for you to say.'"

The Life of a Showgirl artist admitted that the comments sometimes fuels up too, but that does not mean she would seek approval from her critics.

She explained, “I realized that I’m making music because I’m playing for the fans. I’m putting this out for people who care about it and who look to music as a way to cope with their life in the way that I did.”

At the end of the day, Taylor emphasized that she makes music because she loves it and for fans who love her.

She added, “I think that if you can actually go through all those checkpoints, and realize that putting out music that you’ve made that you love so much is not the path to universal validation, if you’re still doing it, then you love it for the right reasons.”

Taylor's latest album was released in October, her 12th LP, The Life of a Showgirl.
