Reason behind Meghan Markle's willingness for UK return spilled

Meghan Markle's interest in returning to acting may be one of the reasons behind her and Prince Harry's decision to move back to the UK.

Sources suggest Meghan, 45, could be in early discussions for a potential role in a popular British crime drama The Gentlemen on Netflix, which would mark one of her biggest returns to acting since her previous television career. 

Reports say no formal agreement has been made yet, and the show itself has not officially been renewed for another season.

The reports come as Meghan and Harry prepare to relocate to Britain with their two children after living in California for the past six years.

According to one report, Meghan could potentially play a dramatic, high-profile character within the series.

"The gossip in TV circles is that Meghan could play the ultimate temptress, who puts the cat among the pigeons by seducing an aristocrat."

"The Gentlemen would be perfect for her. It's a big budget, glossy production and quintessentially British. And because it is on Netflix that gives it a huge global audience. In fact, it is one of the streaming giant's biggest hits of recent years."

Sources describe the show as a major hit for the streaming platform, and note that the potential role in the Guy Richie production would place her alongside a well-known cast member widely discussed as a possible future James Bond.

"It would see her star opposite Theo James, who plays Eddie Horniman, the 13th Duke of Halstead, and is a frontrunner to be the new James Bond. Everything about the project screams quality, but it is one with a bit of an edge too."

However, other reports have clarified that Meghan's specific character, if she joins the project, has not yet been confirmed.
