Prince Harrys UK return linked to remarks made during BBC interview?

After losing legal challenge over his security in the UK in May 2025, Prince Harry told BBC he "would love a reconciliation" with the Royal Family.

The younger son of the monarch said the King "won't speak to me because of this security stuff", but that he did not want to fight any more and did "not know how much longer my father has", alluding to Charles III's undergoing treatment for an unspecified cancer.

After that interview, Harry has met King Charles twice during his visits to the Kingdom.

During his last meeting with the monarch, Harry’s wife Meghan Markle and two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet were also present.

Days after returning to the United States, Harry and Meghan Markle are planning to return to the UK this month.

King Charles, who media reports said welcomed having his youngest son and his family closer, only found out about the move on Sunday.

A person close to the couple said they would move from California to somewhere outside London for an extended period ‌with their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, who will go to school in Britain.

While the real reason behind their return is not known, Prince Harry’s latest move is being linked to his last year comments about his father’s illness.
