Queen Camilla gets emotional for the very first time: ‘I was longing to let it out’

Queen Camilla just wore her heart on her sleeve and let the world in on the truth surrounding her turmoil, grief, and pain when she learned of King Charles’ cancer before the rest of the world did.

Her admission comes during a candid and deeply emotional royal engagement to the opening of a Maggie's cancer support centre at the Royal Free Hospital in London.

What is pertinent to mention about the timeline is that it happened back in 2024 a few days before the King’s cancer was announced.

Moreover, the conversation itself happened alongside the charity's Chief Executive, Dame Laura Lee DBE and the Queen was quoted saying during that time, “I remember coming to see a Maggie's just after The King being diagnosed. Nobody could say anything at the time. That was quite difficult.”

She even recounted a moment where she nearly revealed the truth accidentally and admitted, “[I] looked at everybody who was suffering and all the relations and I think it made me realise even more how important these places were”. Another thing she added was, “I was just longing to let it out but obviously I couldn't.”

Since then the charity has come to boasting nearly 27 centers within the major NHS cancer hosptials, as well as provides free psychological, emotional and practical support to the hundreds dealing with the deadly disease on an annual basis.
