Rosie O'Donnell names weightloss drug that made her feel 'better' at 64
The Rosie O'Donnell Show host got honest about her sudden weightloss
Rosie O'Donnell admitted that she has never felt healthier before starting weight-loss drug Mounjaro at 64.
During a recent chat with Amy Poehler on her podcast Good Hang with Amy Poehler on Tuesday, the comedian and actress revealed that she feels better and more comfortable in her body.
"I never felt better. And it's sad to me that it took me till I was 64 to get here, but part of it is Mounjaro."
She explained that she began taking the drug three years ago after her doctor prescribed it to manage her diabetes.
"Never mentioned weight loss. Never said anything because it was my numbers they were trying to get down," Rosie clarified.
Rosie revealed that she began to notice changes in her appetite soon and was unable to eat anything at her son's engagement dinner.
First, she thought it was due to feeling down emotionally and missing her late mother.
But when the number on the scale became alarming, she immediately contacted her doc as she thought something was wrong.
"Cut to two weeks later, I get on the scale. I call my doctor crying, I must have cancer. I've lost 12 pounds, and I haven't done anything," she recalled.
"I had never lost weight for no reason."
It is pertinent to mention that doctors prescribe Mounjaro for both type 2 diabetes and chronic weight management. The drug was approved by the FDA in 2022.
