Millie Bobby Brown gets honest about scrutiny and pressure from ‘Stranger Things’

Despite amassing massive amounts of success off of Stranger Things, Millie Bobby Brown recently sat down to discuss the realities of pressure that young girls and actresses go through, in comparison to her male co-stars – of which were four.

The conversation itself happened on the On Purpose with Jay Shetty podcast.

In a clip she says, “I grew up on a show with four boys. I am not taking away their experience, they got their fair share of things. But what the girls got on that show – my experience as well was like the scrutiny or pressure that gets put on you was insane. I never heard about any of my cast members, boys/men about what their wearing on the carpet and what they look like or what their hair looks like or what their makeup looks like or what their saying. Those weren’t the headlines.” (sic)

“it was about ‘how amazing they were, how successful they were, and they are amazing they do get to be written about like that but I do too. My headline shouldn’t be tearing me down.”

“I get very annoyed about it. I just feel very protective of the girls that are coming up into the industry -- That’s their storyline. But that dosnt need to be their storyline".
