Ricky Gervais reveals why he'll never host Golden Globe awards again
Ricky Gervais believes he's 'too old' to host Hollywood awards shows
Ricky Gervais has confirmed that he will never host the Golden Globe Awards again.
In a new interview with The Times, the 65-year-old comedian said that he is "too old" to host Hollywood awards shows.
Ricky also revealed that he would never present the Golden Globes again because it "ruins the fun of Christmas."
"I think I’m too old to take the pressure now," Ricky told the outlet. "Especially something like the Golden Globes in January. It ruins Christmas. But never say never."
Ricky, who hosted the Golden Globe Awards five times, recently described the event as the "most nerve-wracking" thing he has ever done.
"It’s the most nerve-wracking thing I’ve ever done. It’s the only time I ever get an adrenaline rush or get nervous about stuff because I get one shot at it," he told the Heat magazine.
"It’s like taking a penalty. I’ve just got to score. All I care about it, ‘I’ve got to do that joke well. I don’t care what they think of it," continued the After Life star. I don’t care if I’m hated. I don’t care if I have to go into hiding. I just have to say that joke well.'"
"If I fluffed the joke – oh my God, I’d never get over it," added Ricky.
