Bella Thorne is now writing and directing a sequel to the 2012 movie Spring Breakers.

The 28-year-old actress shared the news in a recent episode of podcast Call Her Daddy, where she explained that movie producers watched an early version of her new film, Color Your Hurt, and liked it so much that they asked her to write something for them.

"They asked me to write something to see if they would like it. And they loved it! And now I’m writing and directing Spring Breakers 2."

Thorne also shared that the new movie will feel different from the original, describing it as full of wild and exciting energy.

"This time, things are different. They are crazy. There’s a lot of craziness, there’s a lot of litness. There is so much litness in this movie."

The Disney alum recently made her directing debut with Color Your Hurt, a coming-of-age thriller. She said she's really enjoyed the creative process of working on the new sequel.

Thorne also shared that she wants to take a bigger, more hands-on role in her future projects. She mentioned that she's currently working on a short film and plans to submit it to film festivals soon.
