Andrew Garfield praises his 'Spider-Man' successor Tom Holland: 'I love him'
Andrew Garfield hails Tom Holland as an "incredible actor"
Andrew Garfield has expressed his true feelings about successor Tom Holland's portrayal of Spider-Man.
Speaking to Page Six at the screening of his new film, Magic Faraway Tree, in NYC on Tuesday, the British-American actor that he loves Tom's portrayal of Peter Parker.
“I think Tom is an incredible actor playing that character, and I love him and support him, and just want the best for him,” said Andrew.
“I love Tom. I love Spider-Man; I always have loved Spider-Man since I was 3 years old," he added.
Andrew also expressed his enthusiasm for Tom forthcoming movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
“I’m very, very excited to see the film,” he said.
For those unversed, Andrew played the role of Peter Parker in the 2012 film The Amazing Spider-Man and the 2014 sequel The Amazing Spider-Man 2
The 42-year-old actor was Tobey Maguire’s successor, who had starred in the original Spider-Man film trilogy between 2002 and 2007.
Tobey and Andrew also appeared alongside Tom in the 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home.
“It was an amazing experience,” Tom said during a 2024 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
The new Marvel film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, has been released in cinemas today, 31st July.
