Netflix pulls surprising move for hit drama 'Beauty in Black'
Netflix's early renewal comes as a surprise to many fans
In a surprising move, Netflix renewed Beauty in Black for season 4 ahead of season three's premiere, which is set to premiere later this year.
The streaming giant is doubling down on the hit drama show; the Bellarie family saga is far from over, despite what some fans believed the show would wrap in season three.
But Tyler Perry, who wears several hats on Beauty in Black from creator, producer, to writer, and director, said the story is only just warming up.
“Beauty in Black is back for Season 4 and the Bellarie family’s story is far from finished,” she told Netflix’s Tudum.
“There was so much more I wanted to explore and I’m grateful I get to keep telling this story,
the actress continued.
"To the audience that has been on this ride with us from day one, thank you for watching and sharing it with the world. More episodes are on the way!”
Netflix's early renewal makes sense given Beauty in Black's massive appeal. Its opening season topped charts in 28 countries.
The follow-up was a hit No.1 in 17 countries.
In the meantime, Beauty in Black, which first aired in 2024, does not have a premiere date for season 3.
