Singer Nivea announces blood cancer diagnosis: 'I’ve been going through treatment'
The Grammy-nominated singer opens up about her battle with cancer
Nivea has revealed that she was diagnosed with blood cancer earlier this year.
The 44-year-old singer shared a major health update on Tuesday during an appearance on the latest episode of Cadillac Chronicles.
When she was asked what she was most thankful for, Nivea responded, "Well, first of all, I was diagnosed with leukemia earlier this year, and I’m so grateful to God."
"I’ve been going through treatment, and everything is going great so far. And I expect it to continue. Amen, amen, amen,” she told host Mr. Brian Freeman.
The Laundromat songstress remained positive during her journey, stating that she was “very grateful for life.”
“It’s so cliche to say you don’t know the time nor the hour, but it’s true and it just helped me put a lot of things in perspective, and I live in gratitude, like, religiously, and I’m just grateful for everything,” she said.
Nivea didn't reveal which type of leukemia she had been diagnosed with.
“I’m doing things I wanna do,” she said. “I’m definitely back into my music, and I’m going to school for audio engineering."
The Okay singer added that she is simply grateful and taking every opportunity that comes my way.”
