Dylan Sprouse has opened up about a home invasion at his Los Angeles house, where he confronted an intruder while his pregnant wife, Barbara Palvin, stayed upstairs and called the police.

Sprouse recounted the details of the encounter during a recent appearance on the Wildmen podcast, said the incident happened shortly after midnight while he was playing video games.

"Barbara and I were ripping Pokémon packs," Sprouse said. "She pulls huge. Flash forward, it's 12:30 at night, and I'm lying on the couch playing video games… I never lock my front door until I go to bed. I really shouldn't be saying this, but I've started to now, so nice try."

At first, he thought the noise at his front door might be his father, but quickly realized

He continued, "So, I'm lying on the couch, and I don't hear him come through the gate," Sprouse went on. "All of a sudden, I'm hearing a rattle on my front door, and the first thought that goes through my head is my dad who comes by anytime he wants, [but] he would never show up at 12:30, because he's in bed by 8. someone was trying to get inside."

Concerned for his family's safety, the actor ran upstairs to get his firearm before returning to confront the intruder. He told Palvin to remain upstairs while she contacted emergency services.

Sprouse praised his wife for staying calm throughout the situation, saying she handled the emergency well while he dealt with the man outside.

The actor said he found the intruder holding a cigarette and a skateboard. He believed the man appeared confused and possibly under the influence of drugs. Sprouse instructed him to slowly leave the property and wait until police arrived.

Sprouse says the man claimed he did not know where he was. The actor also noticed wires hanging from the man's pockets and initially thought he might be carrying a weapon, although it later turned out to be a waist bag.

Sprouse said he chose not to press charges, but the suspect was arrested because of outstanding warrants.

The incident comes as Sprouse and Palvin prepare to welcome their first child together. The couple announced in May that they were expecting a baby, and recently revealed they are having a daughter during an episode of the Wildmen podcast.
