'Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu' gets home release date with exclusive bonus content
This 'Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu' release, however, is not theatrical
After doing a round at the cinemas, Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu are making a comeback, but this time on digital release, and there will be bonus content.
According to People, the release date is July 21.
The platforms on which the Star Wars film will be available include Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango.
In addition, the 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray versions will arrive on Aug 25.
As far as bonus content is concerned, both the Blu-ray and digital release will include behind-the-scenes featurettes – among them is the clip of the crafting of Grogu, as the baby Yoda was not entirely created by CGI.
Instead, the visual effects crew handled him.
Regarding the puppet model of Baby Yoda, producer David Filoni said that through the movie, the team sought to "push the limitations of Grogu", whom he called a "great little actor".
Similarly, Pedro Pascal, who played bounty hunter Din Djarin, was in awe of the visual effects crew, stating, “Grogu and the Legacy team, as a collective, are the most organic scene partners that anyone could wish for."
According to People, not behind him in praise was Sigourney Weaver, who played Colonel Ward, who raved about Grogu's charm.
“I am in love with Grogu. I know there are people on the floor and all around him, but all I see is his little face."
“You cannot help but fall in love with that little face," she concluded.
